Joey will return to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. this fall to music direct the beloved musical, Little Shop of Horrors.
How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor will play down-on-his-luck plant-shop worker Seymour with Tony nominee Megan Hilty as Audrey and Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart as Audrey II. Tony nominee Lee Wilkof, who originated the role of Seymour in the original Off-Broadway production, will play Mr. Mushnik.
Little Shop of Horrors is based on the 1960 cult movie The Little Shop of Horrors. The musical version, with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, debuted Off-Broadway at the WPA Theatre in 1982 starring Wilkof and Ellen Greene. The 1986 movie musical, based on the stage production, featured Greene reprising her stage role as Audrey opposite Rick Moranis as Seymour. Ashman penned the screenplay for the film.
